Abstract

The generator concerned consists of two main parts. The first part is a pick-up coil wound around an iron nucleus which at one end is slightly separated from the area of the rotor with the largest diameter, whilst at the other end it is connected to a magnet. This part is fixed and outside of the rotor. The second part is an area of the rotor which is integral to the crankshaft or another rotating part of the engine which, on coinciding in its rotation with the pick-up coil unit, closes the magnetic field, producing signals with a sufficient level of voltage to activate the running of an electronic circuit for ignition.
