Abstract

Un método de análisis de uranio en yacimientos atravesados por un pozo de sondeo, que comprende las etapas de: (a) irradiar cíclicamente un yacimiento de interés que se sospecha contiene uranio con explosiones de neutrones rápidos, (b) detectar neutrones térmicos y epitérmicos que resultan de la irradiación de dicho yacimiento, (c) contar los neutrones térmicos y epitérmicos detectados en cada ciclo de operación cuando se espera que se detecten neutrones instantáneos que resultan de la fisión de neutrones del uranio, y (d) comparar los recuentos de los neutrones térmicos y epitérmicos como una indicación de la concentración de uranio.
