Abstract

A film (311) runs continuously in front of a window (312) behind which is placed a prism (314) directing a light beam through the film. After having passed through the film, the light is reflected by an oscillating mirror (315) onto an objective (316) and then it is reflected by a fixed mirror (318) onto a projection screen (317). The oscillation of the oscillating mirror (315) is synchronised with the running of the images so as to compensate for their movement. This oscillation is actuated by means of a spiral cam (321) acting on a lever (320) rigidly attached to the oscillating mirror. In order to reduce the dimensions of the oscillating mirror, and consequently its inertia which is liable to make the image blurred, the length of film scanned by the mirror at each cycle is limited to a maximum of 5 mm by virtue of using a film, the image spacing pitch of which does not exceed this length.
