Abstract
El método de afinar cobre de cementación en un horno de cuba tal como se ha descrito, caracterizado por mezclar cobre de cementación con fundentes deseados y calentar previamente la mezcla en dichos medios de calentamiento previo, mantener una columna de coque incandescente en dicho horno de cuba, inyectar la mezcla con un gas caliente dentro de dicho horno de cuba al nivel de la temperatura más elevada, para efectuar una rápida fusión de dicha mezcla sin importantes pérdidas por desprendimiento de polvos, y la formación de fases de metal fundido y de escoria, oxidar dicha fase de metal para impulsar las impurezas dentro de dicha escoria, retirar dicha escoria y cubrir dicho metal con un reductor; tratar dicho metal con un agente de reducción para producir un cobre de alta pureza, y recuperar dicho cobre.
