Abstract

Método para producir carbotérmicamente una aleación de alúmina-silicio de materiales, que contienen alúmina y sílice, cuyo método comprende el reducir carbotérmicamente dichos materiales en presencia de una fuente de carbono, caracterizado por: (a) hacer llegar la mezcla conteniendo las fuentes de alúmina-sílice y carbono a una temperatura en la gama de 1500 a 1600º C para formar carburo de silicio y monóxido de carbono; (b) hacer llegar la mezcla conteniendo dicho carburo de silicio a una temperatura en la gama de 1600 a 1900ºC para formar un oxicarburo de aluminio y monóxido de carbono; (c) hacer llegar dicho carburo de silicio y dicho oxicarburo de aluminio a una temperatura en la gama de 1950 a 2200ºC para formar dicha aleación de aluminio-silicio. (d) eliminar dicho monóxido de carbono formado en la etapa (a) sin que pase a través de materiales de las etapas (b) y (c); y (e) eliminar dicho monóxido de carbono formado en la etapa (b) sin que pase a través de materiales dela etapa (c).
