Abstract

Un procedimiento mejorado para endurecer pellets de mineral de hierro crudos oxidables en una rejilla horizontal o en un horno de rejilla circular, comprendido dicho procedimiento hacer pasar la rejilla con un lecho de pellets sobre la misma a lo largo de un trayecto horizontal a través del horno, en el cual dichos pellets son calentados por contacto con gases calientes, teniendo el horno una zona en, o corriente debajo de, el área en donde se alcanza la temperatura pico del horno, en cuya zona la temperatura promedio de los pellets está dentro del margen de aproximadamente 590ºC a aproximadamente 1200ºC y en cuya zona el flujo de gases está en dirección descendente hacia el lecho de pellets que está sobre la rejilla, estando la mejora.
