Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de anhídrido polimaleíco, que comprende polimerizar anhídrido maleico en xileno en calidad de disolvente, cuyo contenido orto-isómero es de hasta el 99% y utilizar peróxido cibutílico terciario en calidad de catalizador de polimerización, caracterizado porque el xileno se utiliza en combinación con un disolvente no reactivo que tiene en punto de ebullición comprendido entre 110º y 180ºC.
