Procedimiento cíclico para la volatilización de zinc y plomo desde materiales que contienen óxido, en un horno tubular rotatorio inclinado, en el cual el material, junto con agente reductor que contiene carbono, sólido, se alimenta al horno tubular rotatorio por su extremo superior, la reducción y la volatilización tienen lugar por debajo del punto de reblandecimiento de la carga, el material que contiene hierro metálico se descarga por el extremo inferior del horno tubular rotatorio.
