Abstract

From the cooling tank, the asparagus is lifted to be gravity fed into an automatic size grading machine each graded size of asparagus is carried by a ribbed rubber band and a ribbed rubber roller into the formed rollers of a prod. skinning machine. The washing tank pref. incorporates power driven rubber conveyor band which supports the prod. in the pockets as they pass the trimming and washign stations. The band has a linear surface speed equal to that of the pocket conveyor chain.
