Abstract

Procedimiento para reducir el volumen del material de intercambio iónico gastado en el cual: el material de intercambio iónico gastado se seca para que tenga un contenido de humedad inferior al 50%; dicho material de intercambio iónico seco se suministra a un reactor de capa fluidizada en el cual se introduce una cantidad suficiente de gas de arrastre para mantener dicho material de intercambio iónico en un estado fluidizado, caracterizado porque dicho gas de arrastre es un gas pobre en oxígeno y dicho material de intercambio iónico se calienta para descomponerse térmicamente, con lo cual se genera un gas efluente que se elimina bajo la forma de una mezcla gaseosa con dicho gas de arrastre a partir de dicho reactor de capa fluidizada, y porque después de la descomposición del material de intercambio iónico se introduce un gas que contiene oxígeno en dicho reactor para quemar el material de intercambio iónico remanente, y se controla la cantidad de oxígeno para mantener la temperatura de lacapa fluidizada a un valor inferior a700 ºC, teniendo la porción no quemada que permanece en el reactor un volumen extremadamente reducido.
