Abstract
An improved continuous process for the selective absorption of hydrogen sulfide from a feed gas comprising an acid gas mixture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, said process comprising the steps of (I) bringing the feed gas into countercurrent contact in an absorption zone with a poor aqueous solution of alkanolamine to provide a rich aqueous solution of alkanolamine, (II) introducing the rich solution in a stripping zone of lighters to provide a mixture of acid gas and steam in the head and poor solution as glues, and (III) recirculate the poor solution to the absorption zone.
