Abstract
A process for the direct production of fibrillated synthetic resin structures capable of joining with cellulosic pulps by sudden expansion through an appropriate hole in a mixture of molten polymer and solvent that is under conditions of high pressure and temperature such that sudden expansion causes instantaneous vaporization of the solvent and solidification of the polymer in the form of a fibrillated structure, characterized in that at least one polar monomer grafted onto the employed polymer is incorporated into the mixture subjected to the sudden expansion, and that causes grafting on the polymer before sudden expansion.
