Abstract

A method of manufacturing an oil seal gasket having an element made of a tubular piece of polytetrafluoroethylene or a similar notary, having an outer cylindrical surface, a concentric inner cylindrical surface and an annular body between said cylindrical surfaces, comprising the operations of: first facing an end wall perpendicular to said cylindrical surfaces; and then re-cut said stroke at a small desired distance from said facing end wall to provide a thin washer and to provide a newly facing end wall, which is then to be cut into slices, thereby proceeding through said piece to provide a plurality of said washers; said method further including treating one face of each of said washers, before or after slicing, to provide hydrodynamic means for returning the oil, said hydrodynamic means leaving the intersection of said wall with its inner cylindrical surface and stretching to a desired width.
