Abstract
Textile wound packages containing natural and/or synthetic fibres are dyed at temperatures above 100 DEG C according to the exhaust method. For this purpose, the wound packages are inserted into a dyeing container. Before dyeing, deaeration and heating of the wound packages is carried out with the aid of hot steam having approximately the dyeing temperature. Immediately following, the deaerated hot wound packages are brought into contact with the dyeing liquor, which has previously been heated to approximately dyeing temperature in a starting container and, relative to the pressure of the hot steam atmosphere in a dyeing container, has been placed under elevated pressure. The so-called flooding-in technique is used here. During the course of this, the dyeing liquor penetrates into the wound packages from outside and from inside at the same time. During the further dyeing treatment up to its conclusion, dyeing is carried out with partial flooding of the dyeing container, the circulation of the dyeing liquor through the wound packages taking place exclusively from the inside outwards. The partial flooding of the dyeing container causes an increase in the dyeing liquor recirculation rate and requires a low recirculating pump efficiency. The uniformity of dyeing is good.
