Abstract

1524911 After treatment of reactive dyeings on nitrogenous materials CIBA-GEIGY AG 13 April 1976 [14 April 1975] 15116/76 Heading D1B Dyeing of natural-nitrogen containing fibrous material which have been obtained in an acid dyebath with reactive azo dyes which contain as reactive groups radicals of a carboxylic acid which contain at least one reactive halogen atom and/or a multiple bond that is capable of addition, vinylsulphone groups or groups which form vinylsulphone groups under the dyeing conditions, or the radical of an aromatic nitrogen heterocyclic ring system with two ring hetero atoms at least one of which is nitrogen and at least one reactive halogen atom are after treated in the exhausted aqueous dyebath in stepwise succession (a) at 70‹ to 80‹C in aqueous liquor at pH 8 to 9, (b) at 55‹ to 65‹C with a reducing agent and at a pH of 4.5 to 5.5 (c) at 55‹ to 65‹C with an oxidant to remove reducing agent not reacted in step (b) and optionally (d) at 30‹ to 40‹C with a fabric softener and subsequently finishing it by draining and drying. Wool which has been given a Shrink-proof finish by oxidative or by applying a synthetic resin may be treated, the fabric softeners being oil, fat and wax emulsions, fatty acid condensation products, polyethylene, polyethylene glycol, silicone and silicone oil emulsions or mixtures thereof.
