Abstract
A procedure for the preparation of adenosine nitrates, of the general formula ** (See formula) ** in which R1 and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a nitro group, at least one of R1 and R2 representing a nitro group and R5 represents a hydroxyl, lower alkoxy, amino, (lower alkyl) amino, di (lower alkyl) amino, aryl- (lower alkyl) amino or cycloalkylamino [2- (dimethylamino) ethyl] amino or [2- (nitrooxy) group. ethyl] amino or a nitrogen containing heterocyclic ring which is bonded through a nitrogen atom, and its physiologically acceptable acid addition salts, which constitute the active material in the formulation of compositions endowed with effects on the heart and on circulatory dynamics, characterized in that it comprises nitrating a compound of the general formula ** (See formula) ** in which R5 has the meaning indicated above, and, if desired, converting the product into a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt.
