Abstract
Improvements made to a building cooling and heating system, the system being operable to provide selective and simultaneous heating or cooling in a plurality of zones, the system comprising at least one air conditioning unit per zone, the air conditioning unit comprising the Reversible air cooling machines that include, individually, a heat exchanger having a coil, or coil, for water therein, a refrigerant compressor, an air conditioning heat exchanger, and operable refrigerant control attachment to selectively originate the permutator type water coil to act as a refrigerant evaporator and air conditioning heat exchanger to act as a coolant condenser, or to cause the permutator type water coil to act as a refrigerant condenser and air conditioning heat exchanger to act as an evaporator d the refrigerants whose improvements comprise: a longitudinally extending temperature sensing device arranged axially within the water coil, the sensing device being thermodynamically sensitive over a preselected distance thereof; and, a thermostat control attachment adapted to control the air conditioning unit when the water temperature reaches a preset temperature, the thermostat control attachment being operable in response to the temperature sensing device.
