Abstract
A procedure for the preparation of 2-aminomethyl-pyrrolidine of the formula **(See formula)** and of its addition salts with mineral or organic acids, characterized in that 2-pyrrolidone is reacted with a reactive benzylated compound of the formula X-CH2-C6H5, in which X represents an atom or a reactive group such as a halogen atom or a tosyl group, because the formed N-benzyl-2-pyrrolidone is treated with a lower alcohol sulfate, an alkaline alcoholate, and nitromethane, and because the obtained N-benzyl-2-nitromethylene-pyrrolidine is reduces to 2-aminomethyl-pyrrolidine, either directly by catalytic reduction, or by passing through the intermediate compound of N-benzyl-2-aminomethyl-pyrrolidine by chemical or catalytic reduction, which may or may not be isolated and then reduced to form 2-aminomethyl-pyrrolidine.
