Abstract
A continuous process for separating at least one high definition hydrocarbon fraction from a liquid hydrocarbon material, comprising continuously introducing the liquid hydrocarbon material into a flow path, a part of which has a relatively narrow cross section and is elongated in transverse direction to the flow of liquid hydrocarbon material passing through it; passing the liquid hydrocarbon material through the flow path while supplying heat at least along part of the flow path to cause part of the liquid hydrocarbon material to volatilize in the part of the flow path; continue passing a mixture of concentrated liquid hydrocarbon material and vapors detached from it through the part of the flow path while continuing to supply heat to it, which achieves a high rate of vapor evolution and imparts a high speed to the mixture as it passes through the part of the flow path; discharging the mixture from the flow path and allowing the released vapors to quickly separate and isolate from the concentrated liquid hydrocarbon material, said liquid hydrocarbon material including at least one hydrocarbon fraction.
