Abstract

Improvements introduced in a diaphragm valve with protection gasket characterized by including: a valve body containing in it a chamber with an upper part and a lower part, said lower part having inlet and outlet ports in communication with said lower part of the chamber, a valve seat in said lower part of the chamber between said inlet and outlet ports, a valve element disposed in said lower part of the chamber superimposed on said valve seat and arranged to control the circulation of the fluid through said lower part of the chamber, a flexible diaphragm arranged in said chamber superimposed on said valve element and arranged to hermetically seal said lower part of the chamber with respect to said upper part of the chamber, a cap arranged in said upper part of the chamber superimposed on said diaphragm said cap having a conduit that passes through it, a valve stem disposed in said cap duct with a lower end in contact with the upper surface of said diaphragm, said cap duct having a recessed annular portion therein, a sealing device disposed in said recessed portion of the cap duct and surrounding said valve stem extending through said cap duct, said sealing device being able to be actuated to allow axial movement of said valve stem in said cap duct and to seal said cap duct hermetically to prevent the circulation of fluid upwards through it, means for displacing said valve stem in said cap duct in order to thereby transmit movement through said diaphragm to said valve element.
