Abstract

A hot-melt adhesive ejector gun for use with a normally solid thermoplastic adhesive cartridge, said gun comprising: a housing cover having a chamber adapted to contain a normally solid thermoplastic adhesive cartridge; means for heating said chamber to a predetermined temperature in order to maintain said adhesive in a molten state; a nozzle device coupled to the front end of said chamber and including a normally closed valve capable of operating in response to a predetermined force of the molten adhesive to allow the flow of the molten adhesive from said nozzle device; a trigger member adapted for coupling to an operating gas source at a predetermined operating pressure; means for venting said chamber into the atmosphere; and a pneumatic structure comprising: a mounting plate slidably coupled to the rear end of said housing cover and in front of said chamber; a gas supply mouth arranged in said mounting plate and coupled to said firing member; a drive member; and a sealing plate arranged on said mounting plate and in communication with said actuation member, operative in a first position to isolate said gas supply mouth and in a second position to provide a gas communication passage between said chamber and said gas supply mouth.
