Abstract
Process for the production of aluminum chlorohydroxides containing a controlled amount of chlorine, characterized in that it comprises an initial attack, by hydrochloric acid, of a material containing aluminum oxides or hydrated aluminum oxides, preferably selected from Bayer alumina, bayerite, gibbsite, bauxite, diasporo, hydrargilite and boehmite, said attack being carried out at high temperatures, between 100ºC and 160ºC, and at a pressure between 0.1 and 10 kg/cm2, then preferably unreacted material separating from the product of said attack, while the reacted material undergoes electrolysis.
