Abstract
Improvements to the hydraulic steering mechanisms for navigation, consisting of at least one pair of double-acting rammers driven from a constant pressure source, said rammers operating on crankshaft journals on an arm fixed with a control surface, arranged to such that one crankshaft journal passes through the top dead center when the surface is partially deflected in one direction and the other crankshaft journal passes through the top dead center when it is partially deflected, the surface in the opposite direction, incorporating said mechanism at least one pair of linked reversing valves each reversing the pressurized fluid connections for the ends of each double-acting rammer in a pair, when a piston thereof passes through its upper dead center.
