Abstract

Procedure for obtaining a new coating for resin surfaces intended to coat a polymeric resin whose carbon chain has at least some hydrogen in a cyclic unit of the polymeric chain, said resin having a critical surface wetting tension of not more than 35 dynes per centimeter, and comprising the steps of providing a photosensitizer having a triplet energy of at least about 62K cal/mol on the surface to be covered by this polymeric material and irradiating said surface with ultraviolet rays in a proportion of 2000 Å at 3500 Å approximately, to generate free radicals in the molecules of the surface of said polymeric material, characterized by the application to said surface of a coating composition comprising groups that are grafted onto the surface molecules in which the radicals have been generated by radiation free.
