Abstract

PURPOSE: A photo-setting resin composition applied to the surface of base material is irradiated with light in a state that the surface is covered with a liquid, thereby giving crosslinked coating films with high surface hardness and good luster.
CONSTITUTION: A photo-setting resin composition containing 0.1W10wt% of a photopolymerization initiator and compounds with one or more (meth)acryloyl groups on terminals or side chanins of molecules and having a relatively high viscosity of over 1000 CPS at room temperature is applied to the surface of the base. Then after dipped into a liquid such as water, the resin composition is irradiated with ultraviolet rays of 1800W4500Å wave length to effect curing of the coating films.
EFFECT: Coating films are not disturbed even by irradiation with light in water to give cured films with good smoothness
