Abstract

A foaming fire-extinguishing composition comprises an aqueous solution of an ammonium alkylpolyalkoxysulphate and 1,2-dibromotetrafluoro-ethane. Preferably the composition contains 2-8 parts by weight of a 40% ammonium lauryl polyethoxysulphate solution and 8-2 p.b.w. 1,2-dibromotetrafluoroethane, a corrosion inhibitor and an antifreeze.
