Abstract
A method of duplicating the information recorded as a surface relief drawing or design in an organic plastic material, characterized in that it comprises: sensitizing and activating the surface to form nuclei on an activating metal thereon, depositing nickel or cobalt on the surface activated by autocatalytic chemical galvanizing from a bath containing a complex-forming agent and operating virtually at room temperature, reinforcing the nickel or cobalt deposit to provide strength, separating the assembly at the interface between the activated surface and the nickel deposit or cobalt whereby a negative duplicate of the raised design is exposed to the metal surface and the negative metal duplicate is used to produce copies of the information on a deformable plastic material.
