Electrolytic Production Of Metals
(AREA)
Abstract
500,671. Electrolytic production of metal strip. DANIEL, K. Jan. 6, 1938, No. 451. Convention date, Jan. 11, 1937. (Class 41] [Also in Groups XXXVIII and V] For duplicating soundrecords in which the sound is recorded by a needle on an endless band, an open-ended matrix is formed by electrolytic deposition of a layer upon the original record, which layer is then stripped off.. As shown in the Figure, the original sound carrier a, preferably consisting of a celluloid base having outer layers of gelatine, after being treated to render it conductive is drawn from a coil b through an eiectroiytic bath g, where a deposit is formed. This is stripped off as an openended band h, which is coiled on a drum l, for subsequent use as a matrix for impressing copies.
