Abstract

Method for bonding textile material and elastomeric compositions by using an adhesive composition, characterized in that it comprises the steps: a) composing a composition comprising a mixture of an aqueous dispersion of a partially condensed resorcinol resin and a aqueous dispersion of elastomeric polymers comprising at least one copolymer derived from the aqueous emulsion polymerization of butadiene with alpha-chloroacilonitrile and optionally with styrene, said copolymer containing 2 to 40% alpha-chloro-acylonitrile; b) treating the textile material with said adhesive composition by impregnation, spraying or binding operations; c) subject the material thus treated to a thermal treatment of drying and to a mechanical treatment of stretching and controlled shrinkage at a temperature between 100º and 250º c; d) coating the dried and stabilized textile material with a vulcanizable elastomer composition based on natural and, or, synthetic rubber, and e) subjecting the assembly to thermal treatment at a temperature and for a period of time capable of vulcanizing said elastomer composition.
