Abstract

Cutting torch nozzle system with accessory insertion member, characterized in that it comprises an elongated torch casing member having an internal axial passageway extending longitudinally therethrough and terminating at an inlet end and an outlet end ; said passage having a uniformly decreasing diameter in the part adjacent to said outlet end, said inlet end of said passage being defined by a sealing surface that extends circumferentially; a generally cylindrical, elongated nozzle insertion accessory member having an inlet end and an outlet end and positioned within said passage, the outlet end of said insertion fitting being uniformly conical and applied to the outlet end of said passage, the remaining portion of said insert fitting having a diameter substantially less than the diameter of the passage, with the inlet end of said insert fitting terminating in the sealing surface of said envelope, a circumferentially formed recess, which is axially extends, at the inlet end of said insert fitting, means defining a circumferential sleeve that surrounds said recess and generally extends towards the inlet end of said casing; and an annular, elastic seal member positioned within said recess, said elastic member having a free end portion extending outwardly from said recess and beyond the sealing surface of said envelope.
