Abstract

Method for concentrating minerals by flotation, from a ore, characterized in that it comprises mixing ground ore with water to form an ore pulp, aerating the pulp in the presence of an effective amount of a foaming agent selected from the group consisting of of poly (ethyl-propylene) glycols and lower alkyl monoesters of poly (ethylene propylene) glycols having an average molecular weight within the range of about 50 to about 2500, each of the foaming agents is prepared from ethylene and propylene oxide, each of the oxides is used in amounts between 5 and 95 mole percent based on the amount of alkylene oxide that is reacted and recover the mineral values of the resulting foam.
