Abstract

A razor blade is formed from a steel consisting of 0À7-1À4% carbon, 2-7% chromium, 0À7-2À0% silicon, 0-1% manganese and a remainder iron with the usual impurities. The cutting edge may have a thin chromium coating and/or a coating of sintered polymeric fluorocarbon.
