A protective ring 1 of resilient material is attached to a circular casing aperture 4 to provide sealing-tightness therebetween by a ring 2 formed with inwardly directed resilient tongues 3 which engage in grooves 5 formed on the casing. The ring 1 may be glued to both the ring 2 and the casing. The ring 2 may be formed of sheet metal and the tongues 3 punched out of it. The edge of the ring carrying the tongues 3 may be knurled.
