Abstract

Prepn. of hydrocarbon binder for road surfaces by (a) prepg. a suspension of anthracene-type mineral oil and a vinyl polymer at ambient temp., and (b) rapidly mixing this suspension with tar or liquid asphalt heated to 140 deg.-170 deg.C. This mixing is pref. completed within one min. The suspension cont. 15-40% wt. polymer which is pref. vinyl chloride.
