Abstract

A printing apparatus comprises a hollow handle 14, Fig. 3, having an open end 16 and a closed end 15, a printing wheel 12, suspension means whereby the wheel may be held in operational relationship with the handle and an ink pad adapted to be freely slidable within the handle between wheel contacting and non- contacting positions. The wheel is readily detachable from the handle by manufacturing the wheel axle of a resilient material which deforms when the wheel is forcibly moved relative to the axle bearing surfaces associated with a handle yoke 19. The rubber printing surface of the wheel may be moulded therewith or may comprise rubber type blocks 34 which are snapped-on a rim 42, Fig. 8, forming an integral part of the wheel. The ink pad comprises a pad, a pad holder and a stem and is constructed in the form of an ink cartridge.
