Abstract
A pivoted calliper, reaction type, disc brake has sectional linings on floating shoes. The linings are preferably anchored in recesses in the shoes, and the shoes are loosely held in recesses in the calliper frame by the tongue (35) of a leaf-spring engaging a groove (36) in the end of the shoe, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). The calliper is removable for maintenance by removing the pivot pins 23 which are held by a " bayonet catch " comprising pin 24 and slot 25. The pivot pins may be turned to release the catch by a spike in hole 28 after removing the dust-cap.
