Abstract

A corrosion inhibiting composition comprises a lubricant base and at least 1% by weight of dicyclohexylamine octoate. The lubricant base may be an oil, grease or soap. The oil may be a naphthenic oil which may contain a petroleum sulphonate. Materials specified which may either be employed as the base or as gelling agents for the base oil are Li, Na, Ca and Al stearate, lanolin, petroleum jelly and paraffin wax. The composition may also contain glycols, polyglycols, resinates and polyisobutylenes.
