Abstract
Novel compounds of the general formula (and acid addition salts and quaternary ammonium derivatives thereof), wherein R 1 is a hydrogen atom or alkyl radical and R 2 is a hydrogen atom or alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl radical provided that R 1 and R 2 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms, are prepared by ring closure of an aminoaldehyde preferably in the acetal form, using a Lewis acid or by alkylation, alkenylation or alkynylation of compounds as presented above in which R 2 is hydrogen. Therapeutic compositions useful in the treatment of nervous diseases contain as the active ingredient the above novel compounds and may be provided in the form of tablets, dragees or solutions.
