Abstract

Filaments spun from an aqueous sodium thiocyanate solution containing an acrylonitrilevinyl acetate copolymer which has been lactonized by treatment with aqueous sulphuric acid are washed, stretched in boiling water and relaxed in superheated steam to form 3 denier fibres in Examples 5 and 6. In the latter example, the fibres are dyed.
