Abstract
The housing of an electrical fitting, which may be a fuse base, has contacts (13), (Fig. 2, not shown), covered by shrouds 3, 4 of e.g. nylon, the shrouds having at least one resilient flap 11, 12, formed by slots 8, 9, 10 in alignment with contacts (13), the flaps being normally in a closed position to shield the contacts, but yieldable under pressure to permit passage therethrough of further contacts (14). The flaps may be made thinner than the other parts of the shrouds to be readily yieldable, and the contacts (13) may be as described in Specification 1,123,067.
