Abstract
Compounds of the general formula (R, R1=halogen, CF 3 , NO 2 , C 1-4 alkyl, R2= phenyl, halophenyl, trifluoromethylphenyl, nitrophenyl, (C 1-4 alkyl) phenyl, C 1-4 alkyl, C 3-7 cycloalkyl R3,4 = C 1-4 alkyl broken lines denote optional substituents) are prepared by ring-closing an aminoxy compound of the formula or a syn-imine of the formula optionally followed by N1-alkylation. The product may be converted to a compound of the general formula by treatment with a base. The benzoxadiazocine derivatives are anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants and sedatives, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them together with a carrier.
