Abstract

IMPROVEMENTS INTRODUCED IN OR RELATED TO ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, which are adapted to be electrically coupled to the end of an electric cable having a homogeneous central core of highly ductile metal enclosed within a substantially tubular insulating jacket, characterized by such improvements by including: a) A final jaw member capable of telescopically receiving the end of an insulated wire; b) An internal contact element mounted substantially coaxially inside the final jaw having a maximum outside diameter not less than the inside diameter of the insulated cable capable of being inserted in said jaw; c) An insulating support portion on said inner contact element including an extended longitudinal section having the outermost dimensions therefore substantially coincident with a theoretical cylindrical surface of a given uniform diameter; Y d) An external contact means electrically coupled to said internal contact element, which includes a conductive surface accessible from the outside of said jaw element, said inner contact comprising a contour which presents a relatively high relation between the theoretical volume enclosed in the theoretical surface and the current physical volume of said internal contact element.
