Abstract

Improvements in devices for the manipulation of objects, especially containers or modular drawers for transport, characterized in that such devices comprise in combination one of the said drawers, which is provided with a pair of parallel elongated and spaced rails, along edges opposing upper parts thereof, each of said rails having a generally lance-shaped vertical cross-section, defined by a vertical rim with an enlarged head portion having upper and lower surfaces converging upwards, and a jaw having spaced pairs of hook bars extended downward along opposite sides thereof, said hook bars having lower end portions directed inward and upward, respectively, for engagement with the lower surfaces of the rails of the transport container, said ones being movable hook bars to a cond open after contact with the upper surface of the rails of the transport container, such hook bars being movable towards each other due to gravity to condition the jaw for lifting the transport container, the hook bars being retained in the condition coupled with said rails due to the weight of the transport container.
