Abstract

A device for dispensing soft ice-cream comprises a collapsible bag 47 of polyethylene film and containing soft ice-cream, which bag is secured by a clip 48 to an extension of a dispensing nozzle 37 obturated by a piston 42 moved by a handle 43 and means for applying pressure to collapse the bag including a spindle 26 to which the end of the bag is attached and which is caused to rotate towards the nozzle by a spring in a rotary housing 19 driving endless chains 15 which engage sprockets on spindle 26 controlled by a clutch 36. The spring is wound up by means of a shaft 21 carrying a bevel pinion 18 engaging with a crown wheel 17 and has a brake and ratchet mechanism (not shown). The nozzle 37 may incorporate a metering valve to enable a measured portion to be dispensed and two or more containers arranged in parallel can be fed to a single nozzle.
