Device for fixing the needle and for guiding the thread towards it, for the sewing machine, which comprises a flange (1) fixed to the end of the needle bar (2), this flange (1) presenting a threaded bore (18) inside which a needle pressure screw (17) is screwed (11), being itself engaged within a groove (9), made longitudinally in the central part of the needle bar (2), with a clamping element (16) by pressure between the end (21) of the screw (17) and the needle (11), this flange (1) presenting a groove (23) and carrying a thread guide member (25) (24) inside this groove (23), characterized in that the aforementioned groove is constituted by a groove (23), excavated at the bias inside the flange (1), the axis of this groove (23) passing substantially through a plane passing through the axis of the needle bar (2), the lower end of this groove (23), closest to the axis of the needle bar (2), which opens inside the bore (3) provided in the flange (1) to receive the end of the needle bar (2), the thread guide member (25, 25a) being fixed in the said groove (23), and presenting at least one wing (27, 27a) intended to facilitate the engagement of the thread (24) in the groove (23) and under the heel of the wing (27, 27a, respectively), the lower edge (30, 38) being located, respectively) of this guide member (25, 25a) substantially in the extension of the needle bar (2), so that it leads the thread (24) as close as possible to the axis of the needle (11) in the direction of the elongated groove (32) of the one that emerges from the water hole (33).
