Abstract

A ventilating valve mounted in the wall of an exhaust duct comprises a frusto-conical sleeve 5 in line contact with a movable frustoconical valve body 6. The valve body is moved along the contact line by a chain 14 operating guide means 11 which are connected to the valve body, are slidably mounted in a slot 12 in the sleeve and are guided by a rail 13. The sleeve 5 is mounted in a frame 1 in the exhaust duct wall by spring straps pivoted to the sleeve and engaging a groove 8 in the frame. The straps force a front plate 3 of the valve against a packing 9.
