Abstract
Improvements in receptacle systems and safety contact receptacle, for low voltage electrical installations, characterized by comprising, in combination, a portion of a receptacle of contact and a portion of receptacle or outlet, said receptacle being entirely formed of a housing of material suitable insulator, having a cup-shaped upper portion and a solid cylindrical lower portion extending from the flat bottom of said cup portion, a pair of metal, current-carrying legs, secured by means of screws suitable for the flat lower part of the cylindrical portion of the receptacle, and whose legs are radially directed outwardly from the lower cylindrical portion of said receptacle, said conductive metal legs having a hole in which a suitable screw is accommodated to support the intake wires that are connect to the load, and said tap wires extending outwardly through a central perforation provided in the cup-shaped portion of the receptacle; and said contact receptacle portion comprising a cylindrical member of a suitable insulating material, having a perforation in its central portion, of a diameter slightly larger than the external diameter of the cylindrical outer wall of the cylindrical portion of the receptacle, and a pair of openings extending outwards and radially from the central perforation, and which coincide with the legs extending radially in the receptacle, to allow its free passage when the receptacle is in its plugged position, said housing being formed with a flat bottom in which there is a pair of rectangular openings extending radially and inwardly of the periphery of said flat bottom and in diametrically opposite position, and which do not coincide with the openings arranged on the upper part to allow the passage of the legs of the plug, a pair of flexible metal clamps that extend from said ab rtures at the bottom thereof, at a position a short distance from the openings provided in the upper surface, in such a way that said metal clips are completely hidden with respect to the exterior of the contact receptacle, said metal clamps being fixedly attached to said housing by means of individual screws which in turn are connected to the power supply wires and the opening of said clamps being arranged circumferentially in front of each of said openings to allow the passage of the outlet in such a way that, when the outlet it is inserted axially and into the receptacle, and then rotated in any conventional direction, said legs are fixed securely within the flexible plate clamps, thereby establishing a uniform electrical contact that allows the flow of electrical current through the same and that does not allow inadvertent separation of the outlet with respect to the contact receptacle.
