Abstract
The invention has for object a jack of the type comprising a cylindrical body (7) in which there slides a piston (16) attached to a rod (15) sliding through a bore (14) in one of the ends (11) of the jack, characterised in that the body of the jack comprises a thin metallic tubular core (3) surrounded by an envelope formed of a composite material constituted by a cross-linked polymer matrix and reinforcing fibres. The rod may also be made of a polymer matrix with reinforcing fibres therein, and optionally having a thin metallic tubular envelope around the matrix.
