Abstract
PURPOSE: To attain light weight and good mechanical strength characteristic by fixing a tube to another one of define a plurality of longitudinal channels therebetween, and reinforcing some of the channels with fibers. CONSTITUTION: Tubular structure 1 comprises an outer tuber 2 and an inner tuber 3 which is fixed to the inner face of the outer tube 2. The outer tube 2 is made of a light alloy and has a smooth tubular wall. The inner tube 3 is made of a light metal and has a plurality of recesses 4 in the longitudinal direction. The recesses 4 define longitudinal channels 5. A fiber such as a carbon fiber impregnated with a resin or the like is filled in channels 5. As a result, the tubular structure has an extremely light weight and good strength property, thus the strength-to-weight ratio is extremely high.
