A process for the preparation of new hypotensive polypeptides, of the following general formula R-l-alanil-l-fenilalanil-l-isoleucil-glicil-l-leucil-l-metioninamida Whence r eliges en el grupo constituído por hidrºgeno l-aspartyl, l-glutaminyl-l-propyl-l-seryl-l-lysyl-l-asparatyl yl-pyroglutamyl-l-prolyl-l-seryl-l-lisyl-l -aspartilo, Characterized by the fact that a tripeptide derivative l-alanyl-l-phenylalanyl-l-isoleucine, having an amino group protecting group, is condensed with the tripeptide glycyl-l-leucyl-l-methioninamide and by the fact that that, after removal of the protecting group, the hexapeptide l-alanyl-l-phenylalanyl-l-isoleucyl-glycyl-l-leucyl-l-methioninamide is condensed with an aspatic acid derivative having an amino group protecting group and of beta-carboxyl group and by the fact that the resulting heptapeptide l-aspartyl-l-alanyl-l-phenylalanyl-l-isoleucyl-glycyl-l-leucyl-l-methioninamide, having a protected carboxyl group, is condensed with the tetrapeptide l-glutaminyl-l-seryl-l-lysine, which has the amino groups protected, and by the fact that, after removal of the protective groups, the resulting endecappetido l-glutaminil-l-prolyl-l -seril-l-aspartyl-l-alanyl-l-phenylalanyl-l-isoleucyl-glycyl-l-leucyl-l-methioninamide becomes the endecapeptide or l-pyroglutamyl-l-prolyl-l-seryl-l-lysyl-l-aspartyl-l-alanyl-l-phenylalanyl-l-isoleucyl-glycyl-l-leucyl-l-methioninamide by removal of ammonia.
